For several years soil indice data has been recorded to ensure the land is not being exhausted of nutrients and where appropriate we top up or replace with natural inputs. Alongside this indice data, we keep a log of active matter in the soil including successful root growth establishment and worm counts.
By continuing to invest in modern machinery, we are focused on reducing our impact on the land and the wider countryside. This includes direct drilling to mitigate soil disturbance; reducing farm vehicle travel across fields; improved targeted application of inputs and GPS mapping of the entire farm to navigate in the most fuel-efficient manner.
Each of these components along with continued drainage improvements will safeguard the land for future generations and contribute towards carbon capture.
